Malvoisie La Valaisanne is recommended with all sweet dishes, mature cheeses and savoury Asian dishes. It promises pure bliss as an accompaniment to flavoursome goose liver on toasted toast.
The Malvoisie grape variety is also known as Pinot Gris or Pinot Noir. While the Pinot Noir grape turns blue-black, the Malvoisie grape tends to turn grey to light red. This discolouration also explains the name. When fully ripe, it reaches a light purple colour, which indicates that the grapes are ready to be harvested.
Not only does the Malvoisie honour Valais women in an inimitable way, because it is as sweet and lovable as they are. With its harmonious character, it also perfectly resembles the traditional Valais costume shown on the label: vain, proud and sophisticated, but with incomparable charm, seductive sweetness and stylish fruit. And in this it also resembles Valais women in the most excellent way.
The Malvoisie La Valaisanne already beguiles with its light almond and honey flavours. Anyone who has been able to resist up to this point will definitely not be able to resist the seductive sweetness on the finish.
The grapes are usually harvested as a late harvest in November and traditionally matured in steel tanks. Thanks to the high fruit sugar content, a residual sweetness remains in the Malvoisie after alcoholic fermentation is complete.
