The charming one

Humagne Rouge Les Pyramides

AOC Valais
Humagne rouge is a charming Valais wine that, like Humagne blanc (even though it is not related to this grape variety), is derived from the Latin ‘Vinum humanum’. A wine that is healthy for people. But not only. It's also a particularly charming wine that casts a spell over everyone. Just like the famous Matterhorn that adorns its label.

Wine history
chevron-down

Humagne rouge is an old grape variety that is the result of a natural cross between Cornalin - also known as Landroter - and an unknown grape variety that has probably disappeared.

Although it is not related to its white counterpart, Humagne blanc, its name is derived from the Latin ‘Vinum humanum’, which means ‘wine that is healthy for humans’. means. The label features what is probably the most symbolic and imposing pyramid in the Valais, the 4478 metre-high Matterhorn.

Tasting note
chevron-down

The Humagne rouge presents itself in a dark garnet red colour. Elderberry jelly with a subtle hint of undergrowth can be recognised on the nose. With a fine tannin structure on the palate, it is a charming delight for lovers of fruity, berry wines.

Vinification
chevron-down

Tempered first fermentation to promote the fruit flavours. Maturation in stainless steel tanks with the aim of obtaining a fruity wine typical of the variety. This process preserves its youthfulness and allows it to be drunk immediately.
