Dedicated to Diego Mathier's great-grandfather within the family line, it is ultimately thanks to Ferdinand Mathier that the best AOC vineyards in Valais are now owned by the Diego Mathier family. As a vineyard inspector for the canton of Valais, he recognised early on the connections between the different terroirs, vineyards and grape varieties and their effects on the quality of a wine.
For this reason, the Humagne Rouge label is adorned with an eye, a reminder of Ferdinand Mathier's vision and foresight. It is still a tradition in the winegrowing family that this foresight is passed on from generation to generation.
A typical, full-bodied wine with a wine-red colour. Very pronounced on the nose and rounded off with a light vanilla flavour thanks to the barrique vinification. Pleasant on the palate and emphasised by a pronounced cassis flavour. The rustic character is refined and enhanced by the ageing process.
Abgebeertes Traubengut. Lang andauernde Gärung in Vinimatics, damit eine optimale Temperaturkontrolle gewährleistet ist. Anschliessender Ausbau während 15 bis 18 Monaten in neuen Barriquefässern.
