We do not know whether the potion that Mephisto gave to the young lovers in the world-famous love opera of the same name actually brought eternal youth or even whether it could have been our Gamay Mephisto.
According to tradition, however, he not only made the young man hear the bright ringing of Easter bells and joyful singing, but also brought passionate peace of mind and inexhaustible youth.
Of course, we can't say all that about our fruity Blitz und Donner from Salgesch - but unforgettable moments of pleasure are guaranteed in any case.
A racy nose with aromas of violets, complemented by intense fruitiness on the palate and a silky tannin structure. The long, soft finish completes the enjoyment of the Mephisto. This Gamay is a balanced red wine, characterised by its tannins, which offers rich and harmonious drinking pleasure from an early stage.
The wine is traditionally matured in stainless steel tanks. After prolonged maceration, the wine is pressed and alcoholic fermentation is completed in stainless steel tanks under the influence of yeast.
