The Rosmarie Mathier rouge cuvée from Adrian & Diego Mathier Nouveau Salquenen is a perfect accompaniment to all meat dishes.
Rosmarie Mathier, Diego's mother, could be found at all the wine fairs in Switzerland and at the Stübli in Salgesch during her active years. She is regarded as the great ambassador for Valais and Swiss wines. Not least because of her popularity, but also thanks to her constant striving for the highest quality, her red Valais assemblage as a triple Swiss champion, perfectly composed from four different grape varieties, is on everyone's lips - in the truest sense of the word. Her label is adorned with a rose, symbolising the incomparable beauty of the woman as well as the bouquet of this wine, which is reminiscent of the beguiling scent of a rose blossom.
The Cabernet Sauvignon gives the Cuvée Madame Rosmarie red an outstanding complexity and structure. The Syrah is responsible for the subtle peppery flavour, the Merlot adds a spicy note and the Pinot Noir rounds off the blend perfectly with its silky elegance.
Destemmed grapes, each variety of which is matured individually for 15 months in barriques. The assemblage is married according to Rosmarie Mathier's original creation. Even though Rosmarie is no longer in charge of this herself, she still has a right of veto over her cuvée for the rest of her life.
