The fireworks

Pinot Noir Nouveau Salquenen

AOC Valais
A Pinot noir like fireworks. From the very first sip, it will captivate you and elicit various ahs and oohs. And just like in real life, you will be a little disappointed when you realise that the bottom of the bottle has already been reached. As with the last rocket, which announces the finale with a big bang. Better to order a bottle or two more right away.

The perfect accompaniment to aperitifs, poultry, veal and pork dishes, Mediterranean pasta dishes and pizza.

Wine history
chevron-down

Originally from Burgundy, the Pinot Noir grape found its way to Valais in 1848 - the year the Swiss Confederation was founded - and thus found a new home. A new path, which manifests itself in the company name Nouveau Salquenen, was also taken by our winery at the turn of the millennium as part of the succession plan. The result is this modern and innovative interpretation of a fruity Pinot Noir.

Tasting note
chevron-down

The bouquet is reminiscent of ripe, red fruit. Harmoniously round on the palate, the Pinot Noir impresses with its fruit and velvety soft tannins. This ruby-red, well-balanced Pinot Noir is a harmonious and complex pleasure to drink from an early stage.

Vinification
chevron-down

In order to extract additional flavours from the skins of the fruit, the mash is gently warmed before the first fermentation. The fermentation is then gently stopped to give the Pinot Noir ‘Nouveau Salquenen’ its pleasantly sweet flavour.
