The Lucifer is particularly fond of veal and pork, game and mountain cheese. It really knows how to delight with a roasted pork fillet in a spicy pepper sauce.
Irresistibly beguiling and seductively beautiful like the morning star Venus, you'll want to savour more than just one glass of our thoroughbred Pinot Noir. Just make sure you don't end up like the noble merchants who once travelled through the Alps and ended up in Salgesch.
Once they had succumbed to this wine and lost their senses while continuing their journey and the horses riding in circles brought the merchants back to Salgesch at the end, their love of wine came to an end. And the once honoured bearer of light quickly became Lucifer, because they cursed the wine as the devil's elixir.
The Pinot Noir Lucifer impresses with a deep ruby color. Its bouquet reveals notes of red fruits and licorice. On the palate, it is round and harmonious with a delicate finish. It’s enjoyable in its youth, yet ages gracefully in the bottle to reach great elegance.
Before the actual fermentation begins, some of the grape juice is extracted from the mash. The Oeil-de-Perdrix is then pressed from this must. Only a small amount of must remains in the fermenting mash in relation to the amount of grape marc, from which the Pinot Noir Lucifer is then pressed. This measure enhances the valuable structure and colour of the Pinot Noir.
