The red diva

Cornalin Les Pyramides

AOC Valais
One of the best-known and most typical Valais red wine specialities. Cornalin is no less tricky and difficult to tame in the vineyard than the white diva, Petite Arvine. But as with the divas, it is ultimately only the performance of the Cornalin that counts: it is simply brilliant.

Culinary recommendation
chevron-down

An ideal accompaniment to red meat dishes or dishes from exotic cuisine, e.g. an Asian wok pan with tender chicken and crunchy vegetables.

Wine history
chevron-down

The crossing of two grape varieties was first mentioned in Valais at the beginning of the 14th century. Almost forgotten, not least because of its delicate and difficult cultivation, Cornalin has only been increasingly planted again in recent decades and is now one of the best-known and most typical red wine specialities from Valais.

No less famous is the Weisshorn with its 4505 metres above sea level and its three sharp slopes, which form a flat pyramid. The label depicts the majestic main peak, whose beauty can hardly be surpassed.

Tasting note
chevron-down

The Cornalin Les Pyramides presents itself in a dark red colour. On the nose, it impresses with notes of ripe cherries and a hint of cloves. Fresh and fruity on the palate, it delights with its long finish.

Vinification
chevron-down

Tempered first fermentation to promote the fruit flavours. The wine is matured in stainless steel tanks with the aim of obtaining a fruity wine typical of the variety. This process preserves its youthfulness and allows it to be drunk immediately.
