This Pinot Noir Grand Cru is an excellent accompaniment to tender veal, saddle of lamb or game dishes with autumnal garnishes. Mushroom risotto, mature soft cheeses or a fine coq au vin also highlight its elegance. For lovers of dark chocolate with fruity accents, it is also a stylish way to end a meal.
The Salgesch winegrowers set a milestone back in 1988 with the first Swiss Grand Cru. Since then, our family business has been vinifying the highly regarded Pinot Noir Grand Cru from Salgesch – as a tribute to Diego Mathier's grandfather under the traditional name Oskar Mathier-Oggier.
In 1988, Salgesch was the first Swiss wine village to impose its own Grand Cru rules – voluntarily, uncompromisingly and with a pioneering spirit. Since then, Grand Cru Salgesch has stood for strictly tested quality, loyalty to its origins and genuine winemaking ethics. A label that is not just for show, but earned.
Bright ruby red in the glass. The nose reveals intense aromas of spicy raspberries and cherries, accompanied by a hint of cinnamon and fresh peppermint. On the palate, the wine is smooth, full and harmonious, with finely integrated tannins and a long, elegant finish. A Pinot Noir with history and class.
The expansion takes place in a stainless steel tank.
