Muscat goes perfectly with mild hard cheese, a fine cheese slice and freshwater fish or simply enjoy it as an aperitif.
The white Muscat, which was carefully selected for this wine by the best Swiss winemaker of the decade, is a grape variety of Greek origin. It used to be common in the Salgesch region. After the spread of phylloxera at the beginning of the 19th century, Muscat largely fell victim to the reconstruction of the vineyards. However, it is only in recent years that it has regained importance and is enjoying increasing popularity.
It used to be a tradition in the mountain villages of Valais to throw a big party in honour of the betrothed and the prospect of a new, youngest local.
But only when the offspring had seen the light of day was the chalice filled with delicious muscat to celebrate the birth of the first-born together. The fact that Muscat was poured for such celebrations is by no means a coincidence. Its unforgettable aromas symbolise the fertility of nature and it was hoped that this would be passed on to the young women.
The magnificent chalice can still be found on the label today, and the Muscat La Fiancée - ‘La Fiancée’ means ‘the betrothed’ - knows how to seduce with its playfulness and charm. Just like the engaged young women and men are said to be.
A wine that delights with the primary flavours of the Muscat grape and has a seductive aroma of exotic fruits and rose. The beautiful acidity and slightly sweet finish promise unforgettable moments of pleasure.
Cold maceration before pressing releases the valuable primary flavours from the grape skin. This is followed by classic alcoholic fermentation with acid reduction in stainless steel tanks. A special yeast is used to bring out the primary flavours, especially the characteristic fruit of Muscat.
